Applications
Computing
For today’s consumer, ‘computing’ has evolved into wireless networking – whether in the home, office, coffee shop, or airport. With wireless broadband and Bluetooth access, it is possible to quickly and easily link laptops, desktops, printers, digital cameras, telephones, displays, portable navigation devices (PND’s) and portable digital assistants (PDAs), transferring and sharing files all with the experience and freedom of wireless connectivity! To enable these wireless networking connections, SiGe designers optimize for power efficiency, error vector magnitude (EVM), small size, and optimal control circuitry to ensure leading edge wireless performance.
Home Entertainment
Home entertainment is perhaps one of the most promising consumer markets today. The potential of wireless gaming in the home is quickly being realized, and soon we can expect over-the-air, in-house streaming video to become commonplace. These types of home entertainment applications are particularly well suited for SiGe's unique technologies, which are specifically designed to enable cost-effective wireless multimedia communications operating in environments crowded with wireless signals.
Mobile Devices
Cellular and Bluetooth are established technologies in the consumer marketplace, and SiGe offers state-of-the-art solutions to help these products take advantage of size and efficiency. Some of the latest mobile designs are now being enhanced with WLAN and WiMAX functionality as well as location and mapping services that are dependent on Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite data.
